The Gospel of Luke:
Jesus, Savior of the World
Luke
set out to write an “orderly account of the events that have been
fulfilled among us . . . so that you may know the truth.” His work
encompasses two NT books: the Gospel of Luke and the book of Acts.
In the Gospel, Luke portrays Jesus as the Savior of all the world,
Jew and non-Jew alike. Luke uses his considerable skills as a writer
and preacher to present the Good News of Jesus Christ in a way that
speaks to us all. In this lecture-oriented class, we’ll seek to gain
a better understanding of this Gospel and of Jesus’ life and
teachings. We’ll learn how Luke’s preaching of Christ can help us
all to become better disciples.
This eight-week class was last offered in the Winter 2005 St. Andrew Academy
